Classic Rock

The first issue of Classic Rock was published in 1998 and it was featuring Guns N Roses and the journalist who was insulted by the band’s main singer (Axl Rose) with the track called “Get in the Ring” on Guns N Roses “Use Your Illusion 2.” The journalist was called Mick Wall. Immediately this first issue attracted a large audience because of the main storyline behind the successful band and the popular rock album.

But as the magazine became to become even more well-known/successful it began to feature more successful huge bands such as Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith and etc.
The idea of Classic Rock originally started off as a one off idea, but after a short period of time it became one of the UK’s best selling music magazines and has attracted much attention as well as respect of many of the Classic Rocks biggest names.

In September 2012 it published its 150th issue and now has a higher circulation than the NME magazine.

Classic Rock has become so successful that it even hosts its own awards ceremony called “The Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards.” An annual awards programme that began in 2004.

  1. Another good piece of research here on another magazine company. Again demonstrating your awareness of the importance of institution and your research into similar products.
